I did it in the fuse box because it was more straightforward, and I had room to get a nice solid connection. The switch works by grounding one light, then the other, so if you ground the low beams yourself they'll stay on as you flash or turn on the highs. I did mine maybe two years ago and it's been running great since. I don't remember which exact relay pin is grounded, but I can look if you can't find it in search. I just ran a decent gauge (12 or 14) wire a few inches long with a ring terminal on the end outside the fuse box, connected to one of the screws that holds the box to the body.
